Slack

Slack is the internal communication tool we use at the fablab. If these instructions tell you to contact someone on Slack, but you don't have access to Slack yet follow the contact info at https://northforge.ca/contact/ .

When you are given access, you will automatically be subscribed to a number of default channels.

You can also browse the list of available channels and subscribe to any that you find interesting or relevant.

Important channels:

125-general for general goings-on (stuck in the back lane? Need someone to let you in? Hosting an event?)
125-broken for letting maintenance and other members know when something is wrong
125-safety - for important safety announcements and discussions
125-training - for requesting Training Sessions and learning about training opportunities
125-makers-requests - messages about maker requests
125-announcements - for important announcements
125-member-intro - so you know who is becoming a new member
125-consumables - to request more NF-supplied materials and supplies when we are close to running out
125-volunteer - about Volunteering at North Forge
125-it-support - about Computers for member use
125-scheduling - to tell others if times change or you can't use a booking you made in Skedda, see Skedda#Changing bookings for more info
makers-market - gets updated when something sells in the Maker's Market
