* Don't think we explain Proficiency Training on the wiki yet. Is that our official term for it? If so I will make a page for it and get it linked in somehow. Do we always charge half for it? ** Proficiency training works, so does Training Validation. Prerequisites probably depend on equipment, I had situations where new members said they had used lasers before but because they were not Epilog I basically ended up doing the entire course for them in a slightly shortened form. For returning members, it would usually be that they have to show me the entire process with little to no intervention. This is something we should formalize once we have a better handle on things like the hazard analyses, training documentation, what does and does not require training, etc. Lawrence also made a document for his welding training that I can send you.

Anyone who has previously been a member and returns, or who had suspended their membership, need to re-take the Safety Orientation.

  • What are our recommendations for returning members?
  • At some point there was talk about re-training being available for free for previously trained members, as long as they don't require an extra sesssion. Did we ever formalize that?
    • Emelia follows a process for recurring members needing to take safety and orientation again. If we have new equipment and process changes since the member last was a member, traing is always mandatory before they can use the equipment again. This is usually proficiency. Mstapley (talk)
    • That sounds like quite a decision Emelia has to make there. Would she be sufficiently in the loop to know if e.g. the welding training has changed since that particular person was last a member? Is there documentation around this?

      • Definitely no documentation for equipment training, no formal process or anything. If Emelia has documentation for the safety orientation, please send it along -John

  • Don't think we explain suspending ones membership anywhere. Is that the official term for it? If so I will make a page for it and get it linked in somehow. Do we have any documentation about this now? Ttenbergen (talk) 20:59, 2024 October 16 (CDT)

  • More tab, history on tool pages or instruction can be helpful to remind, and to just re-read.
