Sometimes you will work on a project where you need to leave items on an assembly table or similar. Please do not leave things unstored if they will cause a hazard to others (blocking walkways, producing fumes while drying, etc)
Reasons to leave things unstored
- Glue, epoxy, or other drying liquids
- painted items should be painted in the Paint Room and stored on the Paint Room Drying Shelf since that room exhausts VOCs
- Project or fixturing instability
- Other sensitivity to movement
In general, it is only acceptable to leave something on a work table if:
- You cannot move it without damaging it
- You will be moving it imminently (as soon as it is possible to do so)
Labelling
If you are leaving something outside of a storage space for a valid reason, you must label it with your full name and the date it will be removed.
See North Forge's Clean Worktable Policy for information.
Things that are not projects in progress
Items left unstored that don't meet the definition of a project in progress may go to The Jail or be disposed of according to Consequences of Inappropriate Storage.
