You will be working in the Back elevator lobby . In order to keep safe from hazards created by you or other workers using any of the tools in this room, the following precautions apply in addition to any other precautions: Make sure the door is securely closed or the Back door monitor will go off. Do not block the path to this door as it is part of our escape routes. |
Basement precautions
It is possible to get stuck in the basement if someone moves the elevator.
If you are accessing the basement basement:
- Do not close the doors of the Back elevator once you get to the basement; this will make sure the elevator stays in the basement
- Bring a cell phone with you so that others who need to access the basement can contact you
If you are going to be in the basement for more than 5 minutes:
- Post on the #general channel in Slack to let people know that you're working in the basement and to contact you if they need to use the elevator
In case of fire do not use the elevator!
- Escape via door on other side of elevator; that door is alarmed and leads to an area of the building not occupied by North Forge, so it must not be used under normal circumstances.
